If you've ever wondered what it might be like to camp on the moon, this is it. Completely removed from civilization and surrounded by a barren nature that is alive with the subtle presence of the universe. Seasonally, Spring wildflowers burst across the landscape. Cave paintings of Chumash Indians remind us of those who lived before us. This is where the deer and the antelope play. Our Carrizo Camp is surrounded by the Carrizo Plains National Monument. This is truly a get away from it all camping. That's it. You, the coyotes and your own private moon. Our Songdog Camps are sparsely scattered atop a 200 foot mesa that looks west over a valley offering stunning desert sunsets. Our Ranch House and Glampsites are available on occasion. This is our home but we love to share our life in the outback. We believe it will give you a better appreciation of life's simpler side. This land was sparsely populated by the Chumash Indian and is evident by the numerous cave painting that remain here near the Caliente mountain. In the era of the California Missions, this land was a part of the Spanish land grants. Currently the property is privately owned and is adjacent to large sections of publicly held lands.

Draw Camp in the Far West
Great sunset
Draw camp in the far west is very private with great sunset and views. Perfect for family bonding. Just bring extra umbrella or shade since you get a lot of sun in the afternoon. Nonetheless, we had a great time. Thanks to Jen for dropping by to say hi to us.

Draw Camp in the Far West
OMGOSH! Amazing.
This was a perfect place for me to begin my tent camping adventure in California. Jen was great at communication before I got there, as I had a few questions. Then I was greeted by Jim. As I set up my camp. The site was big, the shelter over the picnic table was perfect, and the outhouse CLEAN! Definitely get a tepid tub. It’s worth it. GO! Make your reservation now!

Glamp Tank site
Beautiful location! We were lucky to get an absolutely stunning sunset and cloudless night for star gazing with smores. Mattresses in the glamp tank were very comfy and we easily fit a group of 3 adults. Highly recommend!

Site 3 - Songdog East Campsites.
Perfect for Carcamping w/ a View!
My fiancée and I had a lovely two-night stay at campsite #3. We were immediately greeted by Jen as we arrived at the Songdog base camp/shop. She provided clear instructions to our campsite and explained how to grab firewood. Our campsite had a trash can, two camping rocking chairs, a table with a roof over it, and a fire pit. The portable bathrooms were in a solid location and clean with a sink outside to wash hands. We had great views of the mountains and valley, especially at sunset! I would gladly go back to this site again - thank you, Jen!

What a beautiful campground! One of the best I’ve been so far. Very clean, quiet and peaceful. The sunset, sunrise and the stars are spectacular. Outstanding customer service. Jen was very kind and welcoming. I had a blast here. I will definitely come back! Thanks Jen for simply being amazing and Hipcamp for the easy booking process and listing wonderful camping sites 🙏🏽♥️
